The Design Process

Wedding gown pictured: V-neck and v-back tank style gown, with chapel length train. Made of white duchess satin. Trimmed in champagne satin covered with Belgian lace, hand beaded with Swarovski crystals, pearls and sequins, and fabric covered buttons. $1200.00.

The design process begins with a consultation where we'll discuss the details of your event. We'll talk about theme, color, venue, fabric, budget and other pertinent facts. Then I'll get to work researching, drawing and swatching. At our next meeting I'll show you what I've come up with, and we can tune up the design. If agreeable, we'll sign the contract and I'll take measurements.

The next step is the muslin. I'll create the dress out of cotton muslin to further define the fit and tweak the design. After the muslin fitting I'll cut the real fabric. Two or three fittings follow after that. The entire process can take from three to six months. The final result is an original gown designed exclusively for you!
